About Mrs. Stephanie
My journey with baking began in Marianna, Arkansas, where the kitchen was the heartbeat of our home. My grandmother and Aunt Martha filled it with the smells of fresh-baked cakes and breads, and with the kind of love you can only taste. As a child, I’d pull up a chair to stand on to watch them, wide-eyed, soaking up every detail. My grandmother’s jelly cakes fascinated me, and when I was eight years-old, she trusted me with something simple yet powerful: teaching me to make cornbread. That first skillet of cornbread lit a passion in me that has lasted a lifetime.
When my grandmother became ill, Aunt Martha took the reins, and she became both teacher and guide. By the time I was twelve, I wasn’t just watching anymore — I was helping, learning the patience, the craft, and the soul that goes into food made from scratch. Those moments shaped me, not just as a baker but as a person who believes love is best served warm, on a plate.
After years of working in food service, I realized retirement wasn’t an ending — it was the beginning of something new. I wanted to create something just for me, something that let me do what I loved most and bring joy to others. That’s why I opened Mrs. Stephanie’s Bakery Studio. Every pound cake, biscuit, and loaf of bread I make carries the heart of my family traditions, the joy of my own hands, and the promise that when you taste my baked goods, you’ll taste the love that started it all.
